Labour Day - First Monday in September; last holiday weekend of summer; honours workers.

Thanksgiving Day - Second Monday in October; celebration of harvest.

Halloween - August 31; honors the Catholic Saints

Remembrance Day - November 11; Memorial Services are held for those who served their country in the Armed Forces.

Christmas Day - December 25; a religious holiday celebrating the birth of Christ.

Boxing Day - December 26.

New Year's Day - January 1; most celebrations occur on the evening of the 31st of December, as Canadians celebrate the end of the old year and the beginning of the new year.

Valentine's Day - February 14;

Good Friday - Late March or early April; marks the death of Christ.

Easter Sunday - A religious holiday marking the resurrection of Christ.

Victoria Day - Third Monday in May; commemorates the birthday of Queen Victoria.

Canada Day - July 1, Canada's birthday.

NOTE: If the public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, banks and government offices may be closed the following Monday.
