MIG Production Line WELDERS

General Job Description

A Canadian agricultural equipment manufacturer would like to employ ten MIG welders from either China or the Philippines.  The welders will be responsible for the welding of plate forgings, mild and galvanized with thickness ranging from 1/16 inches to 3/4 inches.  Reading, understanding and applying blueprints and drawings is required.  Noting errors and discrepancies on the drawings and advising the supervisor is also required.  Each welder is responsible for complete inspection on quality standards.

Preventative maintenance of welding equipment is also an important part of the job.  The work requires frequent exposure to dirty work environments, intense heat and light and burn hazards.  Some of the specific skills that are required for this job are outlined below:

  • Must have the ability to read and use a tape measure accurately

  • Must have or acquire basic knowledge of steel and steel descriptions

  • Must have the ability to work productively while unsupervised

  • Must be punctual and attend work regularly

  • Must have cutting torch skills

 

 

 

 

 

 

Description of Wages and Benefits

The starting wage per hour is $10.00 Canadian dollars.  Each worker is given at least 40 hours of work per week on average during the year.  This equates to a starting salary of $1600.00 Canadian dollars per month.  If the employee performs well, the wage per hour will be increased to $12.00 – 15.30 per hour in the second year which equates to a monthly salary of between $1900-2400 Canadian dollars.  There is a three-month probationary period for all new employees.  Once the worker has passed the probationary period, they will be enrolled in the company’s medical plan which covers 80% of the dental costs, 80% of prescription drugs, vision, short term disability and long term disability and life insurance.   The cost of this private medical insurance is shared by the employee ($100) and employer ($100) for a total cost per month of $200 Canadian dollars.   

Immigration and Company Requirements

  • Married with children (willing to immigrate to Canada permanently)

  • At least 5 years work experience as a MIG production line welder

  • 28-42 years old

  • Basic Knowledge of English (IELTS score not necessary)

  • Welding Trade Certificate

  • Sincere Desire to work for this employer for at least 3 years

  • No relatives in Canada (we do not want to find people who already have relatives in Canada as they tend not to remain with the employer for a long time)

  • Completed at least 2-3 years of technical college relating to welding 

  • If they have personal savings of more than $10,000 Canadian dollars this would help their application

  • No Criminal Record

  • Preferably no work experience overseas exceeding six months (they will be required to obtain a police certificate from the country in which they worked – delays the application too much)

  • Health Family (principal applicant, spouse and children)

  • Currently working as welder (if they have changed occupation then they do not qualify)

 

Community Description

 The population of the local community is 1000 people.   The winters are cold and the summers are mild.  For a 100 square meter apartment, the rental cost is between $350-450 Canadian dollars per month.  Taxes are roughly 17-20% of your income.  The company is located inside the small town and employees can walk to work.  Everything is very close and convenient.

           加拿大西部焊接工作机遇

    加拿大复员辽阔﹑经济发达,工业在世界上享有盛誉,其焊接工业是加拿大工业产业的重要支柱产业之一。但目前加拿大机械,焊工人严重短缺,急需海外技术人才移民加拿大来缓解这一短缺局面。下面就有关问题做一简单介绍:

1.  西部工业的迅速发展   西部便宜的土地价格(相当于5000元人民币/公顷)和不断扩大的市场以及快速提高的技术生产力都在不同程度上刺激了工业的发展。

2.  人口呈负增长  目前在加拿大,当地的技术工人数量在绝对性的减少,加拿大正面临着严重的劳动力短缺。据加政府统计,加拿大在未来20年中至少缺300万左右技术工人。由此可见,技术工人短缺不仅仅存在于加拿大的焊接行业,其他行业也普遍存在这个问题。事实上,在加拿大,护士﹑医生﹑建筑工人﹑工程师 金属加工技工 汽车修理工﹑养猪技术工人和卡车司机等行业的技术工人都是短缺的。

 

加拿大西部生活方式

    多数的焊接厂位于加拿大西部各个小镇周围,所以技术工人多居住于这些乡村小镇。这样有三个好处:一,生活费用低,技术工人能够将大部分的收入积攒起来,尽管焊接厂技术工人的工资在加拿大标准中不算太高,但低廉的生活费用足可以弥补相对工资较低的不足。总体来说,生活费用约是城市生活费用的50%~60%。二,由于城镇劳动力的普遍缺乏,技术工人的配偶在加拿大西部可以很容易的找到工作。所以,一个三口之家在加拿大能够有两份稳定的收入。三,乡村社区同样能够提供大城市一样的教育、医疗等条件。同时,乡村拥有安全而干净舒适的生活环境。

    在费用方面,技术工人可以按照以下方式安排:租一套一室一厅或两室一厅的公寓大约需100~300加元/月,个人所得税为16%。食品花销以一家人的消费计算,大约200~400加元/月。在乡下购买一套三室一厅的房子大约为两万到四万加元。总的来说,费用比在城市低大约50%~60%

    一个家庭夫妻都有工作的话,他们第一年每月能够积攒一万到一万两千元人民币。到第三年,他们应该能够每月富余一万两千到一万八千元人民币。

申请步骤

    申请加拿大技术工人移民全部过程约需6~12个月,包括技术工人的配偶及子女移民。如果中国焊接技术人员想申请加拿大焊接厂工作职位需具备以下条件
